DDB is in LA right now. The fires are raging all around. There is smoke and particles all around. Where we are at is about 5-7 miles form the closest fire. You should have seen the smoke clouds yesterday when we were flying in to LAX. The fires we saw were on the sides of a mountain and the smoke clouds were as big or bigger than the mountain. We were about 10,000 feet up (I would guess) and I could see the flames on the side of the mountain. They had to be huge for me to be able to see them. It smells like a campfire everywhere in LA. I don't know how the locals can stand it. We are glad to be flying out this afternoon. It is hard to sing, think, and just be in this environment. I definitely feel for those who are ck=loser to the fires; especially the firefighters.
Peace

For the locals it just becomes a normal routine. They knew better than to build in the canyons. My cousin is an LAPD officer and he spends hours trying to close off roads. The kids don't play outside during fire season.
